Open call for applications
The Smart Manufacturing Innovation Centre (SMIC) in Novi Sad invites manufacturing companies from the Western Balkans to apply for the SMIC Smart Manufacturing Accelerator Programme, which helps them identify priorities and plan their digital and green transformation.
The programme is based on the UNIDO Smart Manufacturing Acceleration (USMA) methodology, which helps manufacturing companies modernise step by step. It takes a holistic look at the factory, examining how production is organised, how energy and materials are used, and where digital technologies can bring the greatest benefits.
The underlying principle is simple: fix the basics first, then invest. New machinery or software will bring limited benefits if production processes are not stable. You cannot digitise chaos. The methodology helps companies understand what needs to be improved, in what order and at what cost.

How ready is your factory for digital and green transformation?
Take approximately 20 minutes to assess your factory’s current operations, technologies and manufacturing capabilities across six key areas.
Your answers will help build a picture of your factory’s strengths and areas for improvement. At the end, you will receive an indicative readiness profile.
Ready to apply? Once you complete the assessment, simply submit your results to SMIC. Your submission will serve as your application to the SMIC Smart Manufacturing Accelerator Programme.
