Regional research: Mapping the future of Industry 4.0 and circular economy in the Western Balkans

Help shape the future of digital and green transformation in the Western Balkans

Participate in the regional survey on digital transformation and circular economy (for SMEs and business support organizations).

As the Western Balkans accelerates toward a more digital, sustainable, and resilient industrial future, the active participation of both manufacturing enterprises and business support organizations is essential. To better understand the region’s current capabilities, challenges, and emerging needs, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) has launched a new regional research initiative under the project “Fostering Industry 4.0 for Green Transition and Circular Economy in the Western Balkans”, funded by the Governments of Slovenia and Cyprus.

This initiative is focused on assessing digital readiness, innovation potential, and sustainability practices across key actors in the region’s industrial ecosystem, from SMEs on the frontlines of manufacturing, to the support organizations that help them thrive, and the public authorities that shape enabling policies and frameworks.

Together, let’s build a smarter, greener, and more connected Western Balkans.
