Speaker: Jéssica de Assis Dornelles, MSc.

Jéssica de Assis Dornelles is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Industrial Engineering at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Brazil. She is a dedicated member of the Organizational Engineering Group (NEO – Núcleo de Engenharia Organizacional) at UFRGS. Her research focuses on the Smart Working concept within Industry 4.0, with a particular emphasis on analyzing the impact of digital technologies on workers’ activities. In 2024, Jéssica gained valuable international experience during a six-month research stay at the Future Work Lab, part of the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation (IPA), where she conducted experiments with digital technologies. Looking ahead, in 2025, she will continue her work on the effects of digital transformation on workers with a nine-month research stay at the Industrial Performance Center (IPC) of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
